The New Zealand Documentary Board is a television company based in Wellington, the capital city of Aotearoa New Zealand. The company was formed in 2017 to record the events that became the acclaimed documentary series Wellington Paranormal. During the making of their acclaimed documentary film What We Do In The Shadows, acclaimed documentarians Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi encountered a pair of not so acclaimed Wellington police officers, Minogue and O’Leary. Clement and Waititi later decided to make a TV documentary series about these brave police persons and during the course of filming, Senior Sergeant Ruawai Maaka invited them to join the first Paranormal Unit of the Wellington Police.Wellington Paranormal records the first six cases of this ground-breaking new department of our capital city’s police force. They have investigated strange events that can’t be classed as ‘normal’.

So they have to be considered…….. ‘Paranormal’.

The New Zealand Documentary Board aims to continue recording these extraordinary ‘paranormal’ police cases.

We also do weddings.
